Jam is one of the everyday consumer products as many French consume it daily. Be careful though, as some pots are subject to a product recall. For good reason, these products can harm the health of those who ingest them. All the details in this article.

Lot affected by product recall?

In France, jam is very popular with young and old. If most of the time it is eaten for breakfast, some also consume it during a snack. Its dark taste is simply a pleasure for the mouth. However, you need to be very knowledgeable before buying one.

Indeed, a product recall campaign touches jars of jam. And this, for some time due to a possible presence of foreign bodies in the jars. These jams that are the subject of the product recall are those with apricot and orange marmalade.

Note that they both come from at Carrefour Original and weigh 370 g. As for apricot jam, its minimum shelf life is scheduled for August 9, 2024. These jams were sold throughout France between August 18 and 31, 2022.

Its GTIN code is as follows: 3270190114895. As for the marmalade jam, its GTIN code is 327019011488. It was sold on the same date as the apricot one and its minimum shelf life is August 8, 2024.

Why this product recall?

As we said above, these jams that are the subject of a product recall are present a danger to consumers. For good reason, we were able to observe the presence of metallic foreign bodies.

“Due to the risk of injury / adverse effects following the ingestion of this product, as a precaution it is recommended not to consume people who hold products belonging to the lots described above,” wrote Rappel Conso.

Note that this is by no means the first time that jams have been invoked. By June 2022, strawberry flavored ones had already been subjectedsuch a campaign for the same reason.

Don’t eat this ham

A few days before these jams, we had already been warned not to eat ham. A contamination with Listeria monocytogenes would be the cause. This is a bacterium that causes listeriosis. This disease leaves serious consequences for the health of those who contract it.

Note that the incubation period for listeria is very long and can last up to 8 weeks. Symptoms of this disease can be “Fever, isolated or accompanied by headache and muscle aches”. These symptoms are particularly common in elderly and pregnant women.

It is above all the cooked ham of the Adrien Peyrolles brand that is affected by this product recall. It could be found in supermarkets like Casino, Intermarché or Carrefour. Restaurateurs from France, butchers and delicatessens also sold.

This product is on sale from August 25, 2022. It has the lot number: 20422350116 and its GTIN is: 3089739442005. Its consumption is expected to end on September 22, 2022. If you have these products in your house, destroy them. Furthermore, not only ham and jam were recalled, but also pasta.

Beware of batches of Barilla-branded pasta

Indeed, in a product recall, we were advised that we also need to avoid certain batches of pasta of the Barilla brand. These are the ones sold in 500g boxes.

For good reason, we found eggs, who is an allergen, in the ingredients. Many stores have sold this product since March 3, 2022, including Leclerc, Auchan, Système U, Carrefour, Casino, and Cora.
